Authorities in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province launched a coordinated strategy on 16 June 2025 aimed at curbing the spread of e-cigarettes and narcotics among students, in an effort to enhance safety across educational institutions.
On 16 June 2025, provincial authorities in Prachuap Khiri Khan introduced a strategic campaign to address rising concerns over the use of e-cigarettes and narcotics among school-aged children. The initiative was unveiled at the Office of the Prachuap Primary Education Area 1 in Khlong Wan Subdistrict, Mueang Prachuap District.
The program emphasizes joint operations between law enforcement, public health officials, and education sector representatives to inspect and monitor student behavior both inside and outside schools. The goal is to prevent young people from gaining access to substances that can harm their physical well-being and long-term prospects.
Key measures include routine surveillance of high-risk areas, proactive engagement with students, and regular inspections coordinated among 16 police stations, health services, and multiple educational bodies, including the provincial education and vocational offices. Authorities also aim to build parental confidence by ensuring a safer learning environment.
The strategy addresses evolving methods of distribution, particularly online sales of e-cigarettes, which continue to pose a challenge despite previous enforcement success. Authorities highlighted the urgency of immediate and sustained intervention to safeguard youth health.
Officials present at the launch included Deputy Governor Prateep Boribunrat, Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Nakarin Sukonthavit, and Director of the Primary Education Office Kanyamas Chuchin.
