Hua Hin’s Koh Khao sao Songkran Festival

The charming seaside town of Hua Hin is gearing up to host its exuberant Songkran Festival, with the iconic “Koh Khao sao” event taking center stage. Led by local officials and community leaders, the festivities promise three days and nights of immersive cultural experiences, vibrant performances, and spirited celebrations.

Collaborating with both public and private entities, the Hua Hin district, together with various government agencies and local businesses, is orchestrating the “Hua Hin Koh Khao sao – Flower-Patterned Shirt” extravaganza. The event will be a visual feast, featuring illuminated arches, water pavilions, and booths showcasing agricultural products and community goods. Attendees can expect a lively array of activities, including concerts by students from Paknampranwittaya School and performances by artists affiliated with Music Move, as well as EDM sets by MCs. The festival will also host a “Little Miss Songkran” competition, embracing the theme of “Kor Khaosao” attire, fostering community participation, and preserving the cherished traditions of Songkran.

Scheduled from April 11th to 13th, 2567 B.E., the event aims to provide local children and youth with opportunities to engage in and preserve Songkran traditions. Furthermore, it seeks to stimulate the local economy and tourism sector in Hua Hin, serving as a catalyst for economic revitalization while contributing to the conservation of Songkran customs. As part of the festivities, attendees are encouraged to don traditional “Koh Khao sao” attire, adorned with floral motifs, thereby upholding the timeless elegance of Songkran attire through the ages.
