Hua Hin Honors Princess Sirindhorn with Annual Heritage Event

In Hua Hin, Thailand, a ceremonial event is held annually on April 2 to honor the birth anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The district chief of Hua Hin, Mr. Krit Phuangwalaisin, presides over the celebrations at the multipurpose hall/dome of the Hua Hin School, organized in collaboration with the Hua Hin Municipality. The occasion is designed to commemorate the Princess’s contributions to the conservation of Thai heritage, encompassing areas such as literature, history, archaeology, Thai language, architecture, traditional music, and Buddhism. The event serves as a platform for civil servants and citizens to pay homage and pledge to continue the legacy of nurturing and preserving the nation’s heritage.

The day’s activities commence at 7:00 AM with Buddhist chanting and alms-giving ceremonies at the school’s multipurpose hall/dome. At 8:30 AM, the program continues with a floral tribute and a respect-paying ceremony at the same venue. This annual observance reflects the community’s reverence for the Princess and its commitment to upholding the cultural and historical treasures of Thailand.
