Nakhon Phanom province is gearing up to unveil its very first balloon festival, the “Amazing Balloon Nakhon Phanom Fest 2024,” scheduled to take place from March 29th to 31st. The festival promises a spectacular showcase of giant balloons, international kites, and a vibrant walking street, all set to captivate attendees. This inaugural event aims to highlight the rich culture and artisanal craftsmanship of the province, coupled with free evening concerts featuring renowned performers such as Copy Show, Add and Sek, T-Rex, and Up Size Down.
Following the excitement of the balloon festival, the province will continue the revelry with special Songkran celebrations from April 13th to 15th along the picturesque Khao Pun road, adjacent to the Mekhong River. This collaborative effort between the provincial tourism authority and Nakhon Phanom Municipality promises traditional festivities including merit-making ceremonies, time-honored water-splashing rituals, and colorful flower parades. Adding an extra dash of thrill, visitors can look forward to a 100-meter-long water tunnel experience and the distribution of khao pun, a local delicacy.
Moreover, the celebration will feature electrifying breakdancing performances by the Vietnam Town Street dance group, highlighting the recent recognition of this dance form as a sport in the Asian Games. Attendees can also anticipate captivating performances by Neck Naruephon, Man R Panuwat, and Boy Phanomprai, ensuring a dynamic blend of cultural and contemporary entertainment suitable for individuals of all ages.
