Recently, Mr. Nopporn Wuthikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin City, along with other city officials, participated in an inspection of the Kasetsart University Animal Hospital in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The purpose of this inspection was to jointly plan and solve the problem of delivering raw water for Hua Hin municipal tap water production.
Mayor Wuthikul expressed his gratitude to the officials from various agencies, including the 14th Irrigation Bureau, Pranburi Dam, Phetchaburi Dam, Kasetsart University Veterinary Hospital, and the Center for Public Safety Region 4 for joining together to address the raw water problem. This problem has caused a shortage of raw water for producing tap water to serve the people in Hua Hin municipality. The mayor also expressed his thanks to all the parties involved in solving the water crisis in Hua Hin.
The officials identified short-term and medium-term plans to address the water problem. For the short-term plan, the PWA Regional Center 4 will install a remote water transmitter and pumping system from the pond at Kasetsart University Animal Hospital to the water clarifier of the Hua Na Waterworks pumping plant for producing tap water. This is to replace the old water pipe that could not withstand the water pressure and had caused multiple breakages. For the medium-term plan, Hua Hin municipality will coordinate with the 14th Irrigation Office to connect a pipe to the blue water pipe in front of Suan Son Pradiphat and place another pipe next to the Hua Na water pumping plant. This is expected to be completed within 90 days, after which the municipality will install a booster pump to increase the water pressure.
As for the long-term plan, this has been in progress since the time when Former Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha met with the mobile cabinet in Hua Hin and asked for a budget to set up a pumping station from Khlong Sai 1 and lay a 1-kilometer pipe to Hua Hin. Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, former Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, was asked for a budget of 1,054 million baht to continue the pipeline to Hua Hin. The project has now entered its final phase, with only a distance of over 10 kilometers remaining. It is expected that by 2024, all water supply problems in Hua Hin will be resolved.
In addition, the Director of the 14th Irrigation Office confirmed that the aforementioned water pipeline plan will be 100% completed before the end of this fiscal year, ensuring the stability of the water supply for irrigation purposes.
The officials present included Mr. Noraset Songthong, Director of the 14th Irrigation Office, Mr. Chakkrit Loocharoen-ngam, Head of Water Delivery Department 2nd Water Delivery and Maintenance Project, Pranburi, Mr. Suna Khonboon, Director of the Rescue Resource Support Center, Region 4, Veterinarian Wanchat Yippradit, Acting Director of the Animal Hospital Kasetsart University, Hua Hin, and Veterinary Nat Danpanang, Head of Academic Administration Department.
Lastly, the head of the academic administration department of Kasetsart University Hua Hin expressed willingness to fully cooperate and support the initiative. The hospital also faces the problem of water supply, and if supporting the pool area to be a clarifier can help solve problems for the people, the hospital is more than happy to contribute.
