Govt Fully Supports Songkran celebrations

The government has declared complete support for this year’s Songkran Festival, instructing state agencies to plan great festivities for the April 13-15 vacation period.

According to Government Spokeswoman Anucha Burapachaisri, the administration anticipates a major rise in visitor numbers next month, with between 17-20 million people going throughout the nation.

From now through September, the government has launched programs to encourage people to travel during public holidays, including the TAT’s “Visit Thailand Year: Exciting New Chapters” programme, as well as We Travel Together, Wonder Bargain, and Secret Code 365. These programs are projected to enhance domestic tourism in April and bring in more visitor expenditure for the year.

Rachada Dhnadirek, Deputy Government Spokesman, asked Thai and foreign visitors to install the I Lert U smartphone application to protect their safety throughout the event. The Tourist Police app provides a 24-hour service where users may submit complaints or request assistance. It also locates the caller and sends aid using the phone’s GPS signal.

Thai, English, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Arabic, and other Southeast Asian languages are supported by the I Lert U app.
