The Meteorological Department issued a cold weather warning for northern Thailand on December 19, 2022, according to news reports, coupled with a swell of formidable proportions in the Gulf of Thailand’s windy waters.
Between the 18th and 20th of December, the powerful northeast monsoon dominates the Gulf of Thailand and the South, resulting in moderate-to-heavy precipitation in the southern lowlands.
Waves as high as four meters have been recorded in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand around the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan due to heavy winds. Many of the tiny fishing boats that normally populate the shoreline stayed close to shore, safely tied as the strong seas subsided.
Meanwhile, It was discovered that there were waves and high gusts all day long that traveled in inky black water. The skies have been rather blocked off recently. This has resulted in the red flag being waved by hotel and beach management.
For safety reasons, visitors are not allowed to go swimming in the ocean. Almost all visitors will take additional strolls down the beach. A number of beachside eateries, meanwhile, have temporarily suspended operations.
