Military gets ready for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW)

Thailand’s security services are now making preparations for the next APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW), which will see leaders from Asia-Pacific economies assemble in the country.

APEC leaders and delegates can feel safe on 16-18 November since the Royal Thai Armed Forces are prepared to provide security.

General Chalermpol Srisawat, head of Thailand’s armed forces, stated that the country’s military and police have prepared security measures to be implemented as soon as the planes carrying the leaders land in Thailand.

According to him, there is no indication of danger in the intelligence data collected by the Royal Thai Police.

A report of an incident being prepared by a minority group was likewise brushed off by the head of the armed forces, who said that such persons were more inclined to express their beliefs than to inflict violence.
