The King and Queen of Thailand have dedicated a statue to King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great at Bangkok’s King Rama IX Memorial Park. On the sixth anniversary of His Majesty the Late King’s death, the statue was unveiled to the public.
The Princesses Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati and Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya came there to support Their Majesties. They all gathered at King Rama IX Memorial Park to unveil of His Late Majesty’s statue.
His Majesty King Rama X had the monument made to honor the legacy of his grandfather, King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, also known as King Rama IX.
The statue is a memorial to His Late Majesty and a reminder of the respect the Thai people have toward him for his selfless service to the country throughout his 70-year reign.
Attendees during the statue’s unveiling wore predominantly yellow or other brightly colored tops. There was a huge turnout at the park to greet the royal couple. In addition to the musical acts, visitors were also offered delicacies from the royally supported kitchen.
