Deputy Governor Mr. Komkrit Charoenpatanasombat, heads of government agencies, private sector representatives, and officials from related agencies attended the opening ceremony of the service unit on October 1 at the Singkhon border checkpoint building, or CIQ, in Village No. 6, Khlong Wan Subdistrict, Mueang Prachuap District, presided over by Governor Mr. Sathien Charoenruen. The Singkhon Border Development Project is funded by the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, which will be used to create the border checkpoint building, building inspection, border roads, roads inside and outside the project, public service building, and landscape improvements.
Right now, everything has been wrapped up and the assets are being distributed to the relevant departements. A committee of the Thai Border Command Center with neighboring countries in Myanmar’s Prachuap province has assembled a working group to care for the area where the border is being built after receiving instructions to prepare for entry into the Kingdom via the Singkhon checkpoint special relief point.
It has been decided that Provincial Fishery Mueang Prachuap District Preparedness employees would be stationed at the Singkhon border checkpoint facility to assist with the many different types of service missions that agencies do there. At the moment, only international transport is exempt from the Singkhon checkpoint’s special relief point. Talks are now underway with the Myanmar government to establish a method for the two nations to work together again under the parameters of a special relief point, which would allow for the reopening for people, cars, and objects.
In a meeting on September 27th, 65 people from the Thai and Myanmar private sectors met to consider opening a special relief point at the Singkhon crossing. This judgment was put up to the committee at the Thai Border Command Center with Myanmar’s bordering nations. In order to develop an understanding with the Singkhon Travel In/Out Special Relief Point in Myanmar, Myeik is a province that is accessible only from Thailand where people can extend their stay for up to two weeks (13 nights).
If you want to visit Myanmar, you’ll need a valid travel document, such as a border pass or temporary border pass, which allows you to stay for up to four days and three nights. Further, it is imperative that the people of both Thailand and Myanmar adhere strictly to the recommended preventative health practices. This allows for the entry and exit of freight only and is hence limited in its usefulness, a side from the loading and unloading zone.
Thai automobiles can be brought to Moo Dong House in Tanao Si Subdistrict in Tanao District in Myeik Province, however customs and immigration must be notified every time, while Myanmar vehicles can be brought to Singkhon Dan Market with 3 precautions. Each time an operator enters or leaves a province, they must provide specific information. There are two requirements for importing and exporting: 1. Inform them one day in advance, and 2. have a permission and present it to the personnel each time. Thirdly, business owners have an obligation to aid government agencies in conducting random inspections of imported and exported commodities to detect and seize any illegal things that may be present. From 6:30 am to 1 8:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, persons, cars, and items can enter and exit the premises.
