(June 13, 2022) It was reported that after passing a resolution on May 10, the Cabinet agreed with the Ministry of Labour’s proposal to raise the minimum wage in accordance with labour skills. The Government’s website publishes the Wages Commission notice, which measures skills, knowledge and competencies against national standards set out on June 9 under the Skills Development Promotion Act, the minimum wage for 16 occupations will rise to the range of 400 to 650 baht per day.
After 90 days of September 9, 2022, as well as the employer having received the first certificate of regulations, the terms are effective immediately; employees must be assured of being paid according to the standards set out in this proclamation.
By raising wages according to skill standards, they are divided into 3 groups, 16 occupations as follows:
- The group of construction worker in 5 fields as follows:
- Gypsum installers, 450/day for Level 1 Labour and 565 baht/day for Level 2.
- Construction drawing technician, 645 baht/day.
- Wall and floor tiles worker, 50 baht/day for Level 1, 550 baht/day per Level 2 and 650 baht/day for Level 3.
- Building painter, 465 baht for Level 1and 600 baht/day for Level 2
- Aerated concrete builder and installer, 475 baht/day for Level 1 and 575 baht/day for Level 2.
- The group of industrial technicians in 4 fields are as follows:
- Jeweler (Photo) 450 baht/day for Level 1, 550 baht/day for Level 2 and 650 baht/day for Level 3.
- Furniture installer 430 baht/day per Level 1 and 550 baht/day for Level 2.
- Conservative jewellery craftsmen (Ancient technique) 525 baht/day.
- Mechanic fills 625 baht/day.
- Occupational groups in the service sector of 7 fields are as follows:
- Holistic health promoter, Thai Sappaya (Healer), 460 for Level 1 and 575 baht/day per Level 2.
- Pastry operator, 400 baht/day per Level 1 and 505 baht/day per Level 2.
- Front desk receptionist, 440 baht/day for Level 1 and 565 baht/day for Level 2.
- Food and beverage service staff in hotel and restaurant business 440 baht/day.
- Women’s hair stylist, 440 baht/day for Level 1 and 650 baht/day for Level 2.
- Hairdresser for men, 430 baht/day for Level 1 and 630 baht/day for Level 2.
- Elderly care 500 baht/day.
