Thailand’s First Brangus Farm Hosts National Open House for Cattle Industry Exchange
CHA-AM, Thailand — On July 21, 2025, the Thai Brangus Cattle Association hosted its first-ever national Open House event at Vinai Farm (VNC) in Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province. The event was held to promote knowledge exchange among breeders, processors, and businesses interested in Brangus cattle—a premium beef breed gaining popularity in Thailand for its tenderness and distinct flavor.
The initiative comes amid a sluggish cattle market, where falling prices and reduced trading activity have led breeders to seek higher-value opportunities. Brangus cattle, a cross between Brahman and Angus breeds, are emerging as a promising solution for premium-grade beef production due to their resilience and meat quality.
Attendees included approximately 60 participants from across Thailand, representing premium beef producers, restaurant owners, and both local and international cattle breeders. The visit provided a chance to observe Brangus breeding practices firsthand, understand the qualities of the breed, and discuss future market trends and strategies to meet evolving consumer demand.
Vinai Farm—recognized as Thailand’s first to successfully raise a 100% purebred Brangus bull—has developed a reputation over the past decade as a leader in quality Brangus breeding. Located in Nong Yao Village, Khao Yai Subdistrict, Cha-am District, the farm showcases practical breeding approaches and serves as a model for sustainable cattle development.
In attendance were Col. Vinai Phimai, President of the Thai Brangus Cattle Association and owner of VNC Farm; Maj. Gen. Worawut Sinwat, the Association’s Vice President; committee members; and leading breeders such as Netiya Yodnaen of Dong Pradu Farm in Pak Chong. The mayor of Cha-am, Nukul Pornsombunsiri, also joined the event to support the local agricultural initiative.
