Hua Hin officials accelerate installation of water pumps and distribute water for Songkran festival

Several government officials recently visited the Hua Na water pumping plant to inspect the installation of water pumps and the transfer of raw water into the water supply system.

Officials have been working hard to expedite the installation of large water pumps, such as the Naga water pump. After testing the raw water received from the Pranburi Water Transmission and Maintenance Project, it was sent to the Kasetsart University Animal Hospital’s pond before being transferred to the Hua Na water pumping plant via the old pipeline.

The water pump will be used to pump water into the pond once the pumping process is complete. When the pond has enough water, it will be pumped into the water supply system before being delivered to people’s homes. The goal is to begin producing and distributing tap water to the public by April 11. This will help households experiencing water supply issues just in time for the Songkran festival.

According to Mr. Raweerot Thammee of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Administrative Organization, they are collaborating with the Hua Hin Municipality to support a 1,000-liter water tank truck that will distribute free water to people in remote areas, particularly along narrow roads. This is especially important in areas where the Hua Hin Municipality’s large fire trucks are unable to deliver water due to narrow roads or alleys. For three days, the team has been delivering water, making 10-15 trips per day based on the coordinates of the houses that have requested assistance.

The partnership is expected to continue delivering free water to people’s homes for another day as they address the weak water problems caused by the intersection of water production and distribution to people’s homes. During this critical period, officials are working tirelessly to ensure that the residents of Hua Hin have access to clean, potable water.

Mr. Nopporn Wuthikul, the mayor of Hua Hin, was part of the inspection team, as were Mr. Jeerawat Prahmanee and Mr. Chitsanuphong Suwan, both Deputy Municipal Secretaries, Mr. Thongchai Phe Chon Songkhram, and Mr. Raweerot Thammee.
