Bang Saphan Launches Road Accident Prevention Project for Songkran Festival 2023

The Road Accident Prevention and Reduction Project during the Songkran Festival 2023 was officially launched on April 11, 2023 at 3:49 p.m. by Mr. Lertyot Yamphrai, the Bang Saphan District Sheriff. The project, which will run from April 11 to April 17, is aimed at preventing road accidents during the Songkran Festival, which is celebrated over several days and sees a significant increase in traffic on the Petchkasem Road and various secondary roads.

The project’s opening ceremony took place at the Bang Saphan Highway Patrol Service Unit on the Southern Long Side of the Phetkasem Road, Ron Thong Subdistrict, Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The event was attended by local parents, government agencies, soldiers, police officers, network partners, volunteers, foundations, and Bangsaphan volunteers, who gathered to support the initiative.

During the ceremony, Mr. Preeda Wiphas Watchrayothin, the Mayor of T.T. Ronthong, delivered a report along with local leaders, highlighting the importance of the project in preventing loss, injury, and death from road accidents during the festival. The project aims to provide a safe parking spot for travelers who are visiting their hometowns during the festival.

This year’s project is organized in collaboration with SVL GROUP, who donated maintenance supplies such as food and drink to boost morale and encourage officers who will be working during the festival. The project has been organized annually to ensure the safety of travelers during the New Year and Songkran Festival.

Mr. Lertyot Yamphrai emphasized the importance of the project in ensuring the safety and well-being of travelers during the festival. He urged everyone to drive safely and follow traffic rules, emphasizing the project’s slogan, “New life drive safely without an accident.” The project serves as a reminder to all to prioritize safety during this festive period and to take necessary precautions to prevent road accidents.
