Bangkok Named ‘Best City’ in DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards 2024
Bangkok, 29 May 2024 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced today that Bangkok has been honored as the ‘Best City’ in the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards 2024. This prestigious award highlights Bangkok’s enduring appeal to tourists worldwide.
This recognition marks Bangkok’s consistent excellence, as the city previously clinched the ‘Best City’ title three years in a row in the 2018 edition of the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards. It continued its winning streak in the 2020 and 2022 editions, underscoring the Thai capital’s status as a beloved global destination.
In addition to Bangkok’s triumph, other Thai locales also garnered acclaim. Phuket and Ko Samui were named the 3rd and 4th ‘Best Islands,’ respectively, reinforcing Thailand’s reputation for stunning island getaways.
Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport earned the 2nd spot in the ‘Best Airport’ category, reflecting its high standards in service and facilities. Thai Airways International (THAI) also performed admirably, securing 3rd place in the ‘Best Airlines’ category. THAI further achieved 3rd place in both ‘Best Airlines: Premium Classes’ and ‘Best Airlines: Economy Class,’ and 5th place in ‘Best In-flight Entertainment.’ Additionally, THAI’s Royal Orchid Plus programme was honored with 3rd place in the ‘Best Frequent-Flyer Programmes’ category.
The DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards are celebrated for recognizing excellence in the Asia-Pacific luxury travel sector. Readers vote across various categories, including destinations, hotels and resorts, airlines, airports, and cruise lines, reflecting the opinions of discerning travelers.
Looking ahead, voting for the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards 2025 will commence on 1 August 2024 and close on 20 October 2024, inviting travelers to share their favorite travel experiences.
