World of Wizards Pop Up Event

Join us October 23rd – 31st for a special, spooky program in Hua Hin! For those who love all things Halloween, we have a week and a half long program called World of Wizards. Harry Potter fans will love the fun and unique wizard themed Expeditions & Excursions leading up to an epic Trick or Treat celebration on Halloween! While this program is themed around Wizards, Explorers will still get to dig deeper into Thai culture and explore the city of Hua Hin! See some of our wizard themed Expeditions and Excursions below.

Expeditions:

Houses: Explorers will be placed in Houses and earn points throughout the month to compete against other houses (Feel free to bring your Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw gear!)
Potions: A series of potions classes where Explorers will learn about chemistry and solutions to create a variety of different “potions” like perfumes and soap making, slime, creepy Thai jelly desserts, and more!
Astronomy: Explorers will learn about astronomy, the zodiac, and observe and chart the night sky in Thailand. They will paint their very own Thailand night sky map to take with them as a souvenir from their time in Thailand!
Herbology: Explorers will study a variety of Thai herbs and practice the art of infusing herbs into local cuisine. Try out some of the unique flavor profiles of Thai cuisine in a local style cooking class.
Defence Against the Dark Arts: Learn basic Muay Thai fighting skills to protect yourself from bullies (like Draco Malfoy) and evil wizards.
Muggle Studies: In Muggle Studies, Explorers will learn a new Muggle language: Thai, as well as learn about their unique customs and culture. They will learn to read and write the Thai alphabet, as well as learn basic vocabulary and conversation, learn Thai etiquette, study southern Thai dancing, as well as see a traditional southern Thai puppet show and make their own puppets!

Excursions:

Fantastic Beasts & How to Help Them: Explorers will visit a wildlife sanctuary that houses many species of animals that have been rescued. Interact with fantastic beasts such as elephants, tigers, gibbons, monkeys, bears, and more. If you’d like, your family can also book an overnight stay at the foundation’s Ecolodge!
Tri-Wizard Cup: Explorers will go through a series of “challenges”, or traditional Thai games, and the winning team will be awarded the coveted Tri-Wizard Cup!
Quidditch: Explore World School is taking soccer (a very popular sport in Thailand) to a whole new level! Explorers will take to the field to play an exciting game of Quidditch, featuring “broomsticks”, seekers, and the Golden Snitch!
Spooky Cave Tour: Venture out of town towards the jungle and explore Thai caves. You might even be lucky enough to encounter some bats!
Care of Magical Creatures We will take some time out of our busy Wizard schedules and spend some time helping out Hua Hin’s beloved rescue animals. Research shows that animals have a healing affect on humans because of their unconditional love, which makes dogs and cats truly MAGICAL. This is a great chance to engage in some community service by caring for animals, as well as getting to play with the Hufflefluffiest cats & friendliest Gryffindogs around!
Wizzard Walk: Explorers can participate in a 5k walk or run dressed as wizards, witches, or other spooky creatures of their choice!
Monster Mash Bash: Join in on a series of fun spooky songs and dances Zombie Zumba style. You can also learn some special choreography for a fun bonus flash mob event we will perform in a super secret location!
Horcrux Scavenger Hunt: Help defeat Voldmort by completing a scavenger hunt to locate all of the hidden Horcruxes! Use what you’ve learned in Muggle Studies to help you solve the clues to find each Horcrux. The winning team will win triple points for their House!
Hua Hin Specials: Many hotels, restaurants, and water parks will be hosting special Halloween events the weekend leading up to Halloween. These events are separate from our offerings, but we will provide a full schedule of what’s happening around town so that you can pick and choose what you’d like to be part of. There will be events that include trick-or-treating. Prices for these outside events will be separate from our program costs.
Informal Meetups & Playdates: As you build relationships & friendships with other families, you may want to arrange your own micro groups for outings & meetups outside of our program’s schedule. We are happy to provide suggestions for great beaches, play centers, children’s cafes, and sightseeing spots for you to explore before, after, or during our program. Hua Hin is a lovely place to spend a month or more! We will also do our best to assist with finding babysitters in the event that parents would like a fun night out!

Program Fee: 3,000 Thai Baht (approximately $100 USD)

*All other events are available as a la carte experiences which will require an additional cost, as we are coordinating with external vendors. We believe this is a great opportunity for us to have great experiences while also supporting local businesses! You can decide which events to attend based on your family’s budget & schedule. The experiences that will include their own fee are as follows:
