At a meeting held on May 19, 2025, in the conference room of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Islamic Committee Office, Mr. Sitthichai Sawatsaen, Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, chaired a session involving members of the provincial Islamic committee and subcommittees. The agenda focused on evaluating requests for support and acknowledging updates on ongoing projects that benefit the Muslim community in the region.
The meeting covered several key topics, including an update on the initiative “Mosques Will Not Run Out of Water”, health promotion efforts under the Healthy Prachuap Province campaign, and the province’s policies in relation to Islamic organizations. Additional discussions addressed the timely and comprehensive reporting of janazah (Islamic funeral) notices by local mosques and the coordination of birth announcements for new members of the Muslim community with the provincial Islamic office.
Another major item on the agenda was the approval process for halal certification for local businesses, a crucial matter for ensuring compliance with Islamic dietary standards. The committee also reviewed the quarterly summary of the Good Kids Save financial literacy program and the evaluation process for the 2024 Outstanding Mosque Award.
Participants were briefed on the annual performance reports submitted by various mosques in the province. These reports will contribute to future planning and development efforts to strengthen religious and community services.
Among those in attendance were representatives from the provincial women’s committee, female subcommittee members involved in community activities, and Muslim health volunteers, as well as mosque representatives from across the province.
