On 23 June 2025, Prachuap Khiri Khan province held a selection meeting to nominate two exemplary fathers for the 2025 National Model Father Award, as part of Thailand’s annual Father’s Day celebrations on 5 December.

The selection meeting took place at 1:30 p.m. in the Wa Ko meeting room at the provincial hall, chaired by Sinat Oaiiam, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The session aimed to choose two candidates for the national award, following criteria set by the Association of Volunteer Educators and National Model Father Selection.
The Ministry of Interior has tasked all provinces with identifying outstanding fathers to participate in the 46th National Father’s Day event. The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 5 December 2025, at Centara Life Government Complex Hotel and Convention Centre in Bangkok. The event pays tribute to King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and promotes recognition of paternal dedication in Thai society.
The association’s criteria emphasize loyalty to nation, religion, and monarchy; adherence to democratic principles under constitutional monarchy; a minimum age of 50; lawful marriage; peaceful family life; children’s completion of compulsory education; and children leading honest lives. Additional criteria include moral integrity, a history free of serious criminal convictions, honest livelihood, no involvement in gambling, and abstention from habitual alcohol use or drug-related activities.

Three candidates were proposed for consideration: Anan Fueangfu, 73, a retired civil servant from Bang Saphan District; Saneh Hinsri, also a retired official, residing in Bang Saphan Noi District; and Arut Huaihongthong, 49, the village head of Na Hu Kwang in Thap Sakae District. All were nominated by local agencies based on their qualifications. The final selection will be announced at a later date.
