A commemorative fair promoting the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy opened in Hua Hin on June 19, 2025, as part of an initiative to promote self-reliance and sustainable living in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
Authorities in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province have launched the “Father’s House” Sufficiency Economy Fair in Hua Hin, a five-day event held from June 18–22, 2025, at the ground floor of Bluport Hua Hin Shopping Mall. The event marks an effort to commemorate the legacy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and to raise awareness of the sustainable development principles he championed.
The fair highlights the New Theory Agriculture and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which continue to influence national policy and grassroots initiatives. Organizers also paid tribute to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn for his role in preserving and advancing these principles. The event aims to promote a way of life rooted in sustainable agriculture, self-reliance, and community resilience—values considered foundational to improving the quality of life for Thai people across all generations.
The fair supports the provincial development framework known as “Next Move Prachuap,” which emphasizes environmental balance, sustainable food systems, and well-being through a model of “enough to eat, enough to use, enough to live.”
The event is divided into five main activity zones. These include an exhibition dedicated to royal projects and the philosophy of sufficiency; educational areas offering workshops on organic farming, natural agriculture, and smart farming technology; contests featuring local products like durians, pineapples, and drip coffee; and markets selling regional goods, including Geographical Indication (GI) certified products and items from community enterprises. Visitors can also explore local cooking demonstrations and learn about community-based tourism focused on culture and health.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Sittichai Sawatsaen. Also in attendance were provincial officials, municipal leaders, business representatives, and members of the public. During the event, awards and certificates were presented for various contests, and participants toured the exhibitions celebrating the royal legacy.
