Prachuap Khiri Khan Province launched the 2025 Father’s House Sufficiency Economy Fair on June 19 in Hua Hin to honor the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and promote sustainable agricultural practices rooted in royal development principles.
The “Father’s House” Sufficiency Economy Fair opened on June 19, 2025, at Bluport Hua Hin Shopping Mall in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The five-day event, running until June 22, pays tribute to the enduring legacy of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and aims to strengthen public awareness of his New Theory Agriculture and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy.
Organized under the theme of self-reliance and community resilience, the fair highlights how these royal principles have been carried forward by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and adapted by the public to improve quality of life and ensure sustainable development. The event also supports the provincial strategy “Next Move Prachuap,” aimed at enhancing social stability and well-being across all age groups through natural agriculture and sustainable living models.
Visitors to the fair can explore five key activity zones:
- Exhibitions on royal development projects, King Bhumibol’s photographs, musical compositions, and philosophical contributions to sustainable living.
- Educational spaces offering hands-on knowledge in organic farming, smart agriculture, water resource management, and local innovations such as the “Khok Nong Na” model and intelligent farming technologies.
- Contests and demonstrations, including competitions for durians, pineapples, local product gift sets, and hand-drip coffee.
- Seasonal product markets, featuring Geographical Indication (GI) goods like Pala-u durians, Tanawsri durians, Prachuap pineapples, OTOP products, and various consumer goods from community enterprises.
- Community tourism showcases, highlighting local cuisine, cultural destinations, and wellness tourism initiatives.
The event aims to promote sustainable practices and connect urban residents and tourists with local wisdom and agriculture-based living.
At the opening ceremony, Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Sittichai Sawatsaen presented commemorative “Home of Our King” shirts to deputy governors and event sponsors. He also awarded certificates and plaques to winners of the agricultural contests and toured the fair’s main exhibitions and activity zones. A wide range of participants attended the event, including government officials, local administrators, business representatives, residents, and tourists.
