On June 19, 2025, the Hua Hin Municipality launched a training program aimed at enhancing the well-being and vocational skills of local senior citizens. The initiative, held at the Golden Sea Hotel in Hua Hin, focuses on improving both physical and mental health while equipping participants with tools to generate additional income.
The Hua Hin Municipality has initiated a new program titled “Life Quality Development and Occupational Promotion Center for the Elderly,” with the goal of improving quality of life for the town’s aging population. The event, held on June 19, 2025, marked the official start of the project and took place at the Golden Sea Hotel in Hua Hin.

The program was officially opened by Ms. Phailin Kongpan, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality, with a welcoming address delivered by Mr. Jirawat Phrammanee, the Municipal Clerk. A program overview was presented by Ms. Nuengruethai Sukchan, Deputy Clerk of the Municipality. The event was attended by the acting director of the Social Welfare Division, municipal staff, and 40 elderly residents from across the Hua Hin municipal area.
The initiative aims to support the elderly by promoting good physical and mental health while encouraging career development that can lead to sustainable income. The program incorporates the use of modern technology to provide practical benefits to participants.
Educational sessions included lectures on “Understanding and Preventing Depression in the Elderly” and “Basic Self-Screening for Physical and Mental Health,” led by experts from Hua Hin Hospital. Additionally, hands-on workshops were offered on topics such as “Using Mobile Applications to Encourage Physical Activity Among Seniors” and “Techniques and Skills for Income Generation,” conducted by Dr. Chantawan Engchuan, a lecturer at Maejo University – Chumphon Campus.
The event reflects the municipality’s broader efforts to foster active aging and promote lifelong learning among senior citizens, ensuring they remain engaged, healthy, and self-reliant members of the community.
