Hua Hin Launches Insect-Borne Disease Prevention Campaign

On 13 June 2025, Hua Hin Municipality launched a public health campaign aimed at preventing insect-borne diseases, seeking to raise awareness and reduce infections across the city.

The campaign, initiated by the Division of Public Health and Environment of Hua Hin Municipality, focuses on public education and community involvement in preventing diseases transmitted by insects, such as dengue fever. It is part of an ongoing effort to reduce the number of infections and fatalities related to such illnesses, particularly during peak transmission periods.

As part of the campaign, the municipality distributed disease prevention signs to seven affiliated schools. A community parade also took place, starting at Hua Hin Municipal Demonstration School and proceeding through central Hua Hin, to increase public awareness and encourage vigilance in disease prevention.

The campaign aims to strengthen local cooperation by creating a network of health volunteers and civic leaders to ensure a city-wide approach. Officials hope this effort will lead to long-term improvements in disease control and a better-informed public.

The opening event was held at the Hua Hin Municipal Demonstration School and was presided over by the acting mayor. Municipal officials, school administrators, teachers, students, public health volunteers, and civic group leaders were also in attendance.
