The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Kasikornbank (KBank) have introduced TAGTHAi Easy Pay, a digital wallet designed to facilitate cashless transactions for international visitors. The service, launched as part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism & Sports Year 2025 campaign, aims to streamline financial transactions while boosting tourism revenue, which is projected to reach 3.5 trillion baht by the end of the year.
TAGTHAi Easy Pay is integrated with KBank’s Prepaid PAY&TOUR Card, enabling tourists to make digital payments via Thai QR Payment. The initiative reduces reliance on cash and eliminates the need for currency exchange, aligning with the global shift toward digital financial services. It also aims to enhance accessibility for local businesses, particularly in lesser-known destinations, by encouraging electronic payments.
Thailand’s tourism industry has increasingly embraced digital solutions. The TAGTHAi mobile application, which supports various travel services, surpassed 2 million downloads in 2024 and recorded a 183% rise in sales. Officials expect the new e-wallet to further support the country’s tourism ecosystem by providing a secure and seamless payment experience.
To use the service, tourists can download the TAGTHAi app on iOS or Android, register for the Prepaid PAY&TOUR card, and top up funds without additional service fees. The system is designed to improve financial convenience for travelers while benefiting businesses across Thailand.
The launch event was attended by representatives from TAT and KBank, who emphasized the initiative’s role in modernizing Thailand’s tourism infrastructure and supporting economic growth.
