On March 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM, Governor Sithichai Sawatsan of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province participated in a strategic meeting at the Singkhon-Myeik Research Center, Phetchaburi Rajabhat University. The discussion focused on Thai-Myanmar border issues, economic and cultural cooperation, and academic collaborations.

The meeting included Deputy Governor Preeda Sukjai, Associate Professor Pojanart Buakiew (Vice President of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University), district chiefs, and university faculty members. They also visited a textile exhibit featuring patterns inspired by regional history, such as “Tungna Patal,” “Dvaravati,” “Whale Family,” and “Suwannawach.”

Phetchaburi Rajabhat University has been conducting integrated research on the Singkhon border since 2016, facilitating cross-border collaboration between Thailand and Myanmar, particularly in the Myeik region. The university also signed an academic and cultural cooperation agreement with Myeik University in 2019.

Future plans include economic and social research, cross-border tourism development, and strengthening academic partnerships. The research center aims to enhance knowledge-sharing on history, culture, and ethnic communities while fostering sustainable development in the Singkhon-Tanintharyi-Myeik corridor.
