Phetchaburi Launches Hands-On Community Tourism Initiative

On March 14, 2025, Phetchaburi province launched a new community tourism initiative under the D-HOPE model, allowing visitors to actively participate in local cultural experiences. The event, held at Ban Rang Chak Community Hall in Cha-am District, was organized to promote hands-on tourism activities aimed at creating lasting impressions for travelers.

The initiative, a collaboration between the Cha-am District Office and the Phetchaburi Provincial Community Development Office, seeks to strengthen local tourism through direct visitor engagement. As part of the launch, workshops were conducted to train ten selected community entrepreneurs—referred to as “champions”—in managing D-HOPE tourism experiences. These champions will guide visitors through interactive activities that showcase traditional skills, crafts, and local ways of life.

The program, running from March 14 to 16, 2025, invites travelers to explore and participate in curated experiences within the community. By encouraging active involvement, organizers aim to foster sustainable tourism and revive local cultural practices. Visitors interested in experiencing these activities firsthand can visit Ban Rang Chak Community Hall during the event period.

The launch event was attended by Phetchaburi Governor Phopchanok Chalanukroh, along with representatives from the Community Development Department, district officials, and local tourism committees.
