On March 13, 2025, the opening ceremony of Thai Elephant Day was held in Hua Hin, with Ms. Pailin Kongphan, the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality, presiding over the event. The ceremony took place at the Hua Hin Elephant Village, with Mr. Prakop Chamnankit, the owner of the village, providing a report on the significance of the occasion. The event was attended by assistant mayors, local officials, tourists, and members of the public.

Following the opening remarks, attendees participated in an elephant feeding session at the Hua Hin Elephant Village, located behind Khao Itisutho Temple. This activity aimed to raise awareness about the importance of Thai elephants, the national animal, which has had a significant cultural and historical connection with the Thai people for centuries.

The Hua Hin Elephant Village is dedicated to promoting elephant conservation while offering both Thai and international visitors a chance to learn about the lives of elephants. Tourists can engage in activities such as feeding elephants and riding them, providing a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the area while supporting elephant conservation efforts.

In addition to its educational initiatives, the village serves as a key destination for eco-tourism, combining natural attractions with wildlife conservation. The event emphasized the ongoing importance of preserving Thai elephants for future generations.
