On March 9, 2025, at the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Police headquarters, Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Nakharin Sukhonthawit presented honorary plaques to 13 officers from Muang Prachuap Police Station. The recognition was awarded for their swift and effective resolution of a high-profile murder case in the province.

The case stemmed from a fatal stabbing that occurred on January 11, 2025, on Phetkasem Road in Bo Nok, Muang Prachuap District. The victim, identified as 59-year-old Thanya, was attacked with a knife before the suspect fled the scene by vehicle. Investigators, led by Muang Prachuap Police Chief Pol. Col. Phaitoon Promkhian, reviewed CCTV footage and identified the suspect as Wichitchai (surname withheld), a 47-year-old delivery truck driver from Buriram Province.

Authorities gathered sufficient evidence to request an arrest warrant from the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Court. On January 12, 2025, the court issued Warrant No. 12/2568, charging Wichitchai with premeditated murder. The suspect was tracked down and apprehended in Tak Province while making a delivery in northern Thailand. Police also recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack. The suspect was transferred to Muang Prachuap Police Station for further legal proceedings.
The police were commended for solving the case within 24 hours of the incident. The award ceremony recognized officers, including senior and investigative personnel, for their efficiency and dedication in bringing the suspect to justice.
