Authorities have arrested a 57-year-old Hungarian man accused of breaking into a parked car and stealing 1.5 million baht in cash at a shopping mall in Nonthaburi. The suspect, identified as Mr. Altal, was apprehended on March 8, 2025, while at a swimming pool in Chonburi. The theft occurred on March 3, 2025, after a 38-year-old Lampang resident withdrew the money from a bank and left it inside his vehicle.

Police reviewed CCTV footage, which showed the suspect using a white Honda Wave 125i motorcycle without a license plate to flee toward Bangkok’s Sai Mai District. He later abandoned the motorcycle at a repair shop, where he returned two hours later to have a license plate installed. Investigators identified the suspect, who lived near the repair shop, and secured an arrest warrant from Nonthaburi Provincial Court.

During the arrest, officers recovered a motorcycle, 187,850 baht in cash, and a mobile phone. The suspect has denied the charges. Further investigations are ongoing. Several law enforcement officials from Provincial Police Region 1 and Nonthaburi Province participated in the operation.
