Prachuap Khiri Khan marked a new chapter in cultural tourism on February 21, 2025, with the launch of a festival aimed at celebrating local heritage and boosting economic value through art and community spirit. The Colorful Village Festival, held on the renowned Cultural Road in Mueang district, offers an immersive experience that blends traditional performance art with contemporary creative expressions.
The initiative is part of a broader governmental strategy to leverage cultural resources as a catalyst for tourism development. Emphasizing the potential of cultural funding to generate economic value, the project seeks to position the province as an international tourist destination by highlighting its unique local identity. The festival aligns with the national Soft Power policy, which underscores the importance of arts, culture, and tourism in enhancing both economic and social vitality.
Scheduled every Friday and Saturday from 17:00 to 21:00 until March 22, 2025, the event features a diverse array of activities. Visitors can enjoy a range of cultural performances, demonstrations of local craftsmanship, interactive art and music sessions, community vendor markets, guided tours of a local cultural museum, street art displays, and vibrant lighting installations that transform the area into an open-air celebration of heritage and creativity.
