Kui Buri National Park Expresses Condolences and Commitment to Public Safety

Kui Buri National Park has expressed deep condolences to the family of 68-year-old Mr. Chaleaw Phan-on, who tragically lost his life after being attacked by a wild elephant on February 11, 2025. The incident occurred in a palm oil plantation in Ban Sa La Lai, Sam Roi Yot district, Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

The park authorities have always recognized the importance of safeguarding the well-being of the local community residing near forested areas. In response to the unexpected incident, park officials, led by Chief Anuchat Achan, immediately visited the site to assess the situation. They coordinated with relevant agencies to explore preventive measures and strategies to address the issue of wild elephants in the area.

Furthermore, officials have paid their respects to the deceased’s family and offered initial financial assistance. They also pledged to expedite the process of providing compensation according to official procedures.

In addition to these immediate actions, the park has ramped up its monitoring efforts. Extra personnel and technology have been deployed to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Kui Buri National Park remains committed to ensuring the safety of the community and will continue to provide support for both preventive measures and compensation. The park extends its heartfelt condolences once again to the family of Mr. Chaleaw Phan-on.
