Prachuap Khiri Khan province has chosen the Ban Krut Beach community as its model for the “Visit Local Communities” tourism initiative for the 2025 fiscal year. The selection aims to promote community-based tourism, create economic opportunities, and strengthen the local economy for sustainable development.
On February 11, at 1:30 p.m., a provincial selection committee convened at the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Hall to evaluate candidate communities for the initiative. The committee reviewed two communities—Ban Tan Jed Yod in Sam Roi Yot district and Ban Krut Beach in Bang Saphan district. Both communities align with the principles of a sufficiency economy and emphasize cultural and creative tourism.
Following presentations showcasing each community’s strengths, cultural heritage, and tourism potential, Ban Krut Beach was selected as the provincial representative. The community met key selection criteria, including sustainable tourism management, cultural preservation, and active promotion of local attractions. Officials will now conduct on-site assessments to ensure compliance with program standards before the community is considered for national recognition.
The meeting was chaired by Preeda Sukjai, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, with participation from provincial cultural officials and representatives from various government agencies.
