Pranburi Community Tourism Network Center Opens in Prachuap Khiri Khan

On February 5, 2024, the Pranburi Community Tourism Network Center was officially inaugurated at the WinDham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villa in Pak Nam Pran, Pranburi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The event was presided over by Mr. Sitthichai Sawatsaen, the Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, marking a significant step in promoting community-based tourism in the region.

The newly established center, spanning 100 square meters within the WinDham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villa, aims to serve as a hub for tourism information and activities in Pak Nam Pran. It is a collaborative effort between local community enterprises, tourism networks, and government agencies to foster sustainable and culturally rich tourism experiences. The initiative seeks to distribute economic benefits to local communities while preserving the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

During the opening ceremony, Governor Sitthichai participated in various activities, including touring community exhibition booths, riding a traditional saleng (sidecar motorcycle) to explore local lifestyles, planting trees to promote environmental conservation, and joining a health-focused running event organized by Pranburi District. The governor also visited the iconic Three Palms landmark, a popular tourist spot in Pranburi, for a commemorative photo opportunity.

The Pranburi Community Tourism Network Center will offer a range of services, including guided saleng tours, day trips along the Pranburi River, and the sale of locally made products. Additionally, it will coordinate with government agencies to ensure the safety and security of tourists. The center is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the region’s appeal as a destination for eco-friendly and culturally immersive travel.

Among the attendees were Mr. Ram Singhsophit, the District Chief of Pranburi; Ms. Jirawan Boonrit, Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan Office; Mr. Namlap Imtua, President of the Pak Nam Pran Subdistrict Administrative Organization; and Mr. Rodan Ivan, General Manager of WinDham Hua Hin Pranburi Resort & Villa. Representatives from government agencies, private sector organizations, and local tourism networks were also present to support the initiative.

This project underscores Prachuap Khiri Khan’s commitment to sustainable tourism development, aiming to balance economic growth with environmental preservation and cultural promotion.
