Prachuap Khiri Khan PAO Winner Thanks Voters, Legal Action Over Signs

The newly elected president of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) is preparing to express gratitude to voters following his victory, while the runner-up’s legal team is pursuing action against those responsible for damaging campaign signs.

On February 2, the official website of the Prachuap Khiri Khan PAO published the unofficial election results. The data showed that candidate number 1, Niti Plangsrisakul, secured 82,881 votes, while candidate number 2, Sarawut Lim-arunrak, won with 118,303 votes. Out of 427,867 eligible voters, 229,990—equivalent to 53.7%—cast their ballots. The election recorded 201,184 valid votes, 17,991 spoiled ballots, and 10,813 unmarked ballots.

Sarawut, now set to serve a second term, announced plans to personally thank voters, beginning in Hua Hin District on February 3. He intends to visit all districts alongside newly elected PAO council members. Looking ahead, he emphasized key policy priorities, including improvements to public health services—particularly sub-district health-promoting hospitals—and enhanced care for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, disabled individuals, and bedridden patients. Additionally, he outlined initiatives for infrastructure development and tourism promotion to boost the local economy.

Sarawut acknowledged that the presence of newly elected PAO council members would not hinder governance, stating that all officials share a common goal of serving the public. While no formal complaints have been filed regarding the PAO presidency, he noted that some local disputes—such as a vote recount request in Sam Roi Yot District—are under review by the Election Commission (EC). Certification of the election results will proceed in uncontested areas first, following standard procedures.

Meanwhile, Niti Plangsrisakul released a video message on social media, thanking the more than 82,000 voters who supported him. Despite not winning the presidency, he affirmed that he and his “Prachuap One and Only” team remain committed to advocating for policies that benefit the public. He also addressed allegations of election misconduct, including the destruction of campaign signs and defamatory actions, stating that his legal team will pursue full prosecution to establish accountability for future elections.

Several officials and newly elected members were present during the announcement of results. The timeline for the EC’s final certification remains unclear as investigations into complaints continue.
