Two Malaysian tourists were killed in a motorcycle accident on January 27, 2025, when their big bike lost control on a rain-slicked curve in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Bang Saphan Noi district. The crash occurred on Phetkasem Road, southbound, between kilometers 415 and 416 in Ban Nam Lot, Sai Thong Subdistrict.

Police and rescue teams found a heavily damaged black Kawasaki motorcycle, registration WRG 8535, in the grass beside the road. The victims, identified as Mr. Mohd Sofi and Ms. Zaimima, were discovered lifeless at the scene. Mr. Sofi, dressed in jeans and a black leather jacket, was found in the middle of the road, while Ms. Zaimima lay off to the side.
Initial investigations revealed that the two tourists were traveling from Mae Hong Son Province back to Malaysia. The accident happened during rainfall, making the road slippery. Authorities suspect the motorcycle, possibly moving at high speed, failed to negotiate the curve, skidded, and crashed into a U-turn sign.
Police transported the bodies to Bang Saphan Noi Hospital for autopsy and will continue investigating the exact cause of the crash.
