Hua Hin Celebrates 2025 Chinese New Year Festival

On the evening of January 28, 2025, the Municipal Mayor of Hua Hin, along with local officials, members of the Hua Hin Municipal Council, and invited guests, gathered for a community celebration. At 7:00 p.m., the group prepared and served a large-scale stir-fried noodle dish, “Phat Mee Kratha Yaks Mah Mongkol,” to attendees at Market Village Hua Hin. The event also featured performances from students at schools under the Hua Hin Municipality.

The official opening ceremony of the 2025 Chinese New Year Festival took place at 7:30 p.m., followed by a vibrant display of traditional performances, including a dragon dance. The festivities drew significant attention from both local and international visitors, marking the festival as an important cultural event for Hua Hin. On January 29, 2025, additional activities continued at Market Village Hua Hin, further celebrating the Chinese New Year.

Earlier in the day, the Municipal Mayor participated in the Chinese New Year procession, which featured the revered deities Chai Sing Ee, the God of Wealth, as well as the deities of Samboon and Tuptim. The procession included a dragon dance that circled the town, bringing good fortune to the local Thai-Chinese community. This tradition, encouraging the setting up of altars to honor these deities, plays a key role in preserving and passing on the customs of the Thai-Chinese people, while also boosting tourism in Hua Hin.

The 2025 Chinese New Year Festival, organized by the Hua Hin Municipality and Market Village Hua Hin, was held from January 28 to 29, 2025, at the Market Village Hua Hin shopping center.
