Royal-Initiated Water Project Moves Forward in Chang Raek

On January 15, 2025, at 2:30 PM, local leaders and residents convened at the multipurpose hall of Village 3, Chang Raek Subdistrict, Bang Saphan Noi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The meeting, organized by the Special Committee for Royal-Initiated Projects, aimed to address plans for a water development project to alleviate the water shortage affecting residents in Chang Raek and nearby areas.

The initiative stems from a petition submitted by Chaturong Chanthaep through the Prachuap Khiri Khan Damrongtham Center, requesting royal assistance for a sustainable water source. In response, the Bureau of the Royal Household issued a directive on June 11, 2024, for the Office of the Special Committee for Royal-Initiated Projects (OCCRP) to coordinate efforts.

The session included officials from OCCRP, relevant agencies, and local representatives who assessed the site and identified challenges to ensure seamless project implementation. Recommendations were made to compile additional documentation to expedite aid delivery and enhance efficiency.

Key attendees included Sinathorn Oei-am, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan; Nimit Wongjinda, District Chief of Bang Saphan Noi; and Thirawat Sudchan, Mayor of Chang Raek Subdistrict. Nantapreecha Kamthong, a member of the Senate’s Agriculture Subcommittee, also participated alongside community leaders and residents.
