Sam Roi Yot National Park has announced the temporary closure of its camping area at Hat Sam Phraya Substation due to hazardous weather conditions. Strong winds and rough seas in the Gulf of Thailand prompted the decision, effective January 12, 2025, until further notice. Visitors can contact the park at 032-821568 for updates.

On January 12, 2025, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), Region 4, in Prachuap Khiri Khan, issued a safety advisory and placed red warning flags along Sam Roi Yot Beach. The warning prohibits swimming and water activities due to strong winds and dangerous sea conditions resulting from a powerful northeastern monsoon affecting the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea.
The Thai Meteorological Department’s Bulletin No. 7/2025 stated that between January 11 and 13, 2025, a cold air mass from China will bring cooler temperatures, stronger winds, and waves reaching 2–4 meters in the Gulf of Thailand, with even higher swells in stormy areas. In response, safety measures at Sam Roi Yot Beach have been intensified to protect visitors.
DDPM Region 4 has implemented strict precautions, including multilingual red warning flags and advice for tourists to check weather forecasts and avoid the sea during the monsoon. Water activities in flagged areas or heavy rain are prohibited to prevent risks from rip currents and dangerous waves.

Tourists are urged to follow safety recommendations, such as avoiding flagged zones, refraining from water activities during severe weather, and swimming only in designated areas with safety gear like life jackets or floatation devices. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in stormy conditions, and small boats should remain docked until January 13.
Sumet Charoensuk, Chairman of the Sam Roi Yot Tourism CSR Club, noted that local hotels and tourism groups are actively assisting in disseminating safety information to visitors and enhancing preventive measures to ensure a secure experience.
