On January 6, 2025, a parrot flight show organized by the Phetchaburi-Hua Hin Parrot Friendship Group captivated tourists at the Cha-am Beach viewpoint in Phetchaburi province. The event featured macaws and sun conures demonstrating their agility and skills, attracting both local and international visitors.
Led by 34-year-old Metha, also known as Chang Phon, the group showcased various macaw species, including Blue-and-Gold, Chestnut, Scarlet, and Green-Wing, along with Sun Conures. These birds, valued between 30,000 and 400,000 THB each, impressed audiences with their trained flight routines. The show, free of charge, allowed visitors to interact with the birds by letting them perch on their arms or even take selfies.
The initiative aimed to provide families, particularly children, with an opportunity to experience exotic birds up close without traveling to a zoo, while also promoting tourism in the Cha-am area. The display’s success was enhanced by the active participation of the Phetchaburi-Hua Hin group, whose efforts brought vibrancy to the beachside community.
