On December 4, 2024, a royal voluntary service event was held in Hua Hin to commemorate the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The event, taking place at the Wang Klai Kangwon School, aimed to provide assistance to disabled individuals and bedridden patients in the surrounding areas of the Wang Klai Kangwon Palace. The ceremony, led by Sittichai Sawatsan, the Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, saw the participation of local government officials, royal volunteers, and staff.
The event, which took place at the Wang Klai Kangwon School (Primary Section) in Hua Hin, was attended by Phailin Kongphan, the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin, along with Jirawat Pharamani, the Municipal Secretary, and Ja-ek Likit Nunin, the Assistant Municipal Secretary. The gathering also included royal volunteers and relevant personnel. The key activity of the event was the distribution of 75 royal gift bags to bedridden patients in the vicinity of the Wang Klai Kangwon Palace.
In addition to the distribution of royal gift bags to those in need, the event featured a variety of community services, including medical checkups, dental care, and vision tests. Free haircuts were also provided, alongside services such as repair of household electrical appliances and motorcycles. A royal kitchen service, along with music performances and exhibitions to honor the King, were also part of the day’s events.
The project, initiated by His Majesty the King, is a part of the royal “We Do Good with Our Hearts” initiative, which encourages government officials and the public to engage in acts of service for the betterment of society. The initiative aims to foster a sense of civic responsibility, unity, and national pride, while alleviating hardships and addressing social issues to ensure the nation’s long-term stability.
