Film Launch Celebrates Thailand’s Beauty and Isan Culture

At a private luncheon held today in the ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Bangkok, the new film Thailand Amazing Thailand was officially launched. Former Minister of Tourism and Sports, Weerasak Kowsurat, introduced the production, which celebrates Thailand’s rich culture and breathtaking scenery through the lens of British producer Will Robinson.

The film chronicles Robinson’s journey to northeastern Thailand, where he explored the sounds of Isan and founded The Isan Project. Marking the project’s ten-year anniversary, the film highlights Robinson’s fusion of traditional Thai instruments with Western beats, involving over 500 collaborators. His work extends beyond Thailand, bringing Isan dancing to the streets of New York.

The film features breathtaking locations, memorable moments, and 25 original songs penned by Robinson, including This is the Moment, Flowers of Thailand, I Love Isan, and the titular track Thailand Amazing Thailand.

Weerasak praised the project, saying, “Khun Will Robinson adds our local sounds of music and instruments to create songs that beautifully reflect his experiences in Thailand. This is truly amazing and brings our spirits to a new level.”

Robinson expressed gratitude for his decade in Thailand, stating, “The last 10 years, I know what happiness is. I’m planning for another ten years here to enjoy the incredible food, culture, and beautiful people.” He extended thanks to the collaborators who helped him create the music and film, including Daniel Ryan, Eri Hargrove, and Livingstone Brown.

The film, regarded as a legacy of The Isan Project, is now available on its YouTube channel, inviting viewers to experience the unique blend of Isan culture and contemporary creativity.
