Tourists Rescued from Flash Flood at Nakhon Si Thammarat Waterfall

On November 3, a sudden flash flood turned a typical weekend visit into a perilous situation for tourists at Tha Phae Waterfall in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Intense rainfall triggered a rapid surge of water from the nearby Khao Luang mountain range, causing multiple visitors to become stranded on a temporary island within the flooded area.

Tha Phae Waterfall, located in Ban Na Subdistrict, Chang Klang District, is a popular destination for both local and international tourists, particularly on weekends. The unexpected heavy rain caused water levels to rise swiftly, catching several visitors by surprise and leaving them trapped amidst the strong currents.

Responding quickly to distress calls, rescue teams were deployed to the scene in coordination with local emergency services. Despite the challenging conditions and powerful water flows, rescue personnel successfully reached the stranded tourists. Utilizing rescue lines stretched across the flooded waters, the teams were able to guide the individuals back to safer ground.

Fortunately, all tourists were unharmed, and no injuries were reported following the rescue efforts. Authorities have issued warnings advising visitors to remain cautious and stay informed about weather conditions when visiting natural attractions. Local officials commended the swift and effective response of the rescue teams, highlighting the importance of preparedness and community cooperation in ensuring safety during unexpected natural events.
