Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Reviews Provincial Policy, Budget, and Infrastructure Plans

On October 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Somkid Chantamunee chaired a meeting at Koh Lak Conference Room, 5th floor of the Provincial Hall, aimed at raising public awareness of policy achievements and addressing local issues. Attendees included local administrators, heads of government departments, representatives from various agencies, and local media.

The meeting focused on three key areas: the allocation of the fiscal year 2025 budget, the execution of the 2024 budget, and the management of state-funded assets. For the 2025 fiscal year, Prachuap Khiri Khan has been allocated over 189 million baht for provincial projects and an additional 52 million baht for regional projects. It is expected that project approvals will be completed by mid-November, allowing budget funds to be allocated across various development initiatives.

Regarding complaints submitted to the provincial government in 2024, there were 63 cases involving accusations against public officials, with 59 resolved and four ongoing. Additionally, 208 public assistance requests were received, with 203 already resolved. Most of these cases pertained to disputes between individuals, land and housing issues, and infrastructure and debt-related concerns.

The governor also highlighted the ongoing efforts to renovate key tourist sites in the province, including the Khao Chong Krachok area. Phase 1 of the project, using leftover funds from the 2024 budget amounting to over 280,000 baht, has already begun. This phase includes repairs to structures such as the Lang Kra Chon Waterfall’s pre-cast concrete blocks, electrical systems, and the monkey-proof fencing. Future phases will focus on improving other aspects, such as the whale sculpture fountain at the new Provincial Hall and the staircase to Khao Chong Krachok.

Governor Somkid noted the need for improved management of public assets. Since 2010, certain assets related to the Khao Chong Krachok renovation project have not been transferred to the local municipality, limiting maintenance resources. The province is currently addressing this by allocating funds for further repairs, with plans to gradually transfer these assets to local authorities once work is completed.
