Standout Wednesday Roasts at Dave and Nan’s New Hua Hin Spot
Dave “Halfway Inn” Wilson and his wife, Nan, decided to move to Hua Hin in August 2024, taking over the former Moon Bar. After an intense three-week demolition and construction phase, they merged two bar spaces into a spacious 300 square meters. Their new location features six large-screen TVs, two pool tables, and a spotless kitchen with stainless steel countertops, where Nan plans to offer her popular cooking classes.
Nan and Dave introduced unique Wednesday roasts, ensuring the food is served at the perfect temperature at 7 PM. They chose Wednesdays for their roasts to stand out, as many places serve theirs on Sundays. The couple playfully dubbed them “woasts” after British chat show host Jonathan Ross. They initially opened the Halfway Inn in Patong, Phuket, on August 5, 2011, aiming to create a family-friendly Thai restaurant and sports bar for tourists, expats, and locals. Despite lacking restaurant experience—Dave came from an oil exploration background and Nan worked in swimwear sales—Nan quickly built a loyal following with her Thai dishes, English breakfasts, and bi-weekly BBQ buffets, earning the title of the number one restaurant in Patong for 12 consecutive weeks on TripAdvisor.
