The Hua Hin Music Contest 2024, a significant event aimed at raising the standard of local amateur music competitions to a national level, is currently underway. On August 7, 2024, Hua Hin Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul, along with Deputy Mayors Atichart Chaisri and Busaba Choksuchart, and several other municipal officials, welcomed Jakrawal Saothongyuttitum, a renowned musician and music teacher, who joined the contest as an honorary judge. The preliminary round, involving video submissions from aspiring young musicians, took place at the Hua Hin Municipality Office, with many participants eager to showcase their talent.
The Hua Hin Music Contest, organized by the Hua Hin Municipality for the first time, aims to elevate the standard of local amateur music competitions to be on par with national events. This initiative encourages young musicians from Hua Hin and across Thailand to fully express their abilities, with the hope of fostering future professional bands. Additionally, the event is expected to boost tourism in Hua Hin, thereby positively impacting the local economy.


The competition is divided into two categories: the High School Class and the University Class, with a total prize pool of over 420,000 Baht. The application period remains open until August 15, 2024, with the announcement of selected bands scheduled for August 16, 2024, via the Hua Hin Music Contest Facebook page. The high school category’s preliminary round will take place on August 24, 2024, followed by the university category on August 25, 2024. The finals are set for August 31, 2024, in front of the Market Village Shopping Center in Hua Hin.
Officials in attendance emphasized the importance of this event in promoting local talent and enhancing Hua Hin’s cultural profile as a tourist destination.
