Amidst a brief interlude of rain that halted play for about 2 hours during the round of 32 matches on the second day of the tournament at the Arena Tennis Field in Hua Hin, the competitive spirit remained fervent.

In the women’s singles category, top-seeded “Nong Eve” Pacharintorn Chitphang faced off against Milana Maslenkova from Uzbekistan. Demonstrating her prowess, “Nong Eve” secured victory in just 1 hour and 19 minutes with a 2-0 set triumph, the scoreline standing at 6-2, 6-2. On the other side of the bracket, Thai fourth-seed Salakthip “Nuni” Udomchavee met Japan’s Yunae Ohashi. Udomchavee displayed remarkable gameplay, clinching the match with a 2-0 set victory, scoring 6-2, 6-1.

Meanwhile, other notable results included Zhang Jie (China) falling to Varatchaya Sawangkaew (Thailand) with a score of 2-6, 4-6, Thannasit Yungmode (Thailand) losing to Abhayaa Vermauri (India) with scores 6-7 (5), 4-6, and Pimrada Thongkham (Thailand) being defeated by Jiang Jin (China) with scores 5-7, 2-6. In the women’s doubles round of 16, the Thai duo Yatavee Chimscham and Wirah Deepramuk succumbed to their Chinese counterparts, Suo Xiaoyan and Zhang Jie, with a score of 3-6, 4-6, highlighting the intensity of competition in this prestigious event.
