Prachuap Province’s Eco-Tourism Triumph: Cycling to Preserve Nature and History

At the picturesque Rajabhakti Park in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Province, a notable event took place as Major Adisak Noisuwan, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Province, assumed the role of Acting Governor. The occasion was marked by the commencement of a cycling expedition, aptly titled “Cycling Touring the Local Way of Life: Enjoying the Breeze, Admiring Nature and History @ Tha Sadet,” an initiative aimed at promoting eco-friendly tourism and encouraging physical activity among the community.

This noteworthy event garnered the presence of distinguished figures, including Maj. Gen. Awut Phutthi-amnuay, Commander of the Infantry Center at Thanarat Camp; Ms. Sureeporn Phongphanit, Director of the Central Market Division; and various representatives from the Central Regional District, TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand), and General Krit Puangwalaisin, Chief of Hua Hin District. Among the esteemed guests was Mrs. Wasana Srikanchana, President of the Hua Hin – Cha-am Tourism Business Association; Mr. Atichat Chaisri, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin City; and Mr. Achawan Kongkanan, TAT Director of Prachuap Office. More than 500 enthusiastic cyclists eagerly joined this event, making it a resounding success.

The primary objective of this event was two-fold. Firstly, it sought to showcase the natural splendor and historical significance of the region while promoting tourism within military camps. The 50-kilometer cycling route, commencing at Rajabhakti Park and concluding at Tha Sadet in Thanarat Camp, offered participants a breathtaking journey. The route was lined with verdant landscapes and towering ancient trees, making it an ideal destination for both nature enthusiasts and history buffs.

Major Adisak Noisuwan, Acting Governor of Prachuap Province, emphasized the importance of promoting eco-friendly tourism through cycling, a globally popular form of sustainable travel. Such initiatives not only contribute to environmental preservation but also address pollution concerns. He highlighted that the event was a collaborative effort between the government and the private sector, aimed at advancing sports tourism in the Prachuap Province.

Furthermore, Tha Sadet in Thanarat Camp, the event’s final destination, is a hidden gem that boasts natural beauty and historical significance. It was a favored resting place for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, Borommanat Bophit, and the Royal Family, lending it great historical value. Major Adisak Noisuwan stressed the importance of raising awareness about this invaluable tourist attraction, ensuring it is accessible to the wider public.

In conclusion, the “Cycling Touring the Local Way of Life” event served as a testament to Prachuap Province’s commitment to sustainable tourism, environmental preservation, and the promotion of its rich history and natural treasures. This initiative is poised to leave a lasting impact on the region, further solidifying its status as a must-visit destination for both local and international travelers.
