The Mayor of Hua Hin assigned Mr. Jirawat Pharamani, the Municipal Mayor of Hua Hin, to participate in the provincial committee meeting along with the head of the provincial administrative section of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, in its 5th session of the year 2566. The meeting took place at the Main Island Conference Room, 5th Floor, Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Hall. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Satean Charoenyim, the Provincial Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, and was attended by the Deputy Provincial Governor and other heads of governmental departments.
During the meeting, the progress of activities in the previous month was reported. Subsequently, the meeting focused on monitoring the progress of drought relief and mitigation efforts, as there were concerns about the possibility of drought in the country this year due to the El Niño phenomenon. The Thai Meteorological Department has predicted that almost every region in Thailand will continue to experience below-average cumulative rainfall. Therefore, detailed plans for water management and conservation were discussed, and it was emphasized that throughout Prachuap Khiri Khan province, public awareness campaigns should be accelerated to educate both the general public and businesses in the hospitality and tourism sector about the importance of efficient and sustainable water resource management. Furthermore, it was recommended to identify suitable locations for water storage in case of prolonged rainfall shortage to mitigate long-term consequences.
In addition, the Deputy Provincial Governor expressed concerns about the ongoing spread of COVID-19, which has persisted since the Songkran festival. As the rainy season approaches, there is also an outbreak of dengue fever and malaria. Therefore, it is crucial to provide the public with knowledge and guidance on the surveillance and prevention of these diseases. Moreover, there was a discussion about expediting the evaluation of projects related to the Royal Initiative in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, totaling 105 locations. The aim is to expedite the restoration and rehabilitation of damaged areas, ensuring their return to a well-organized state. Lastly, preparations for state ceremonies commemorating the auspicious 70th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen on June 3, 2566, were also announced during the meeting.
