The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled its latest initiative, the ‘Trusted Thailand’ campaign, aimed at instilling confidence among Chinese tourists and reinforcing the country’s commitment to tourist safety. As part of its efforts to promote meaningful travel experiences, TAT aims to position Thailand as a secure destination for Chinese travelers.
Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, emphasized that the campaign, titled ‘Trusted Thailand, You Taiguo Yue Wan Yue Kaixin’ in Chinese, aims to assure Chinese tourists that Thailand remains a safe and reliable choice. The campaign’s tagline, ‘the more one travels to Thailand, the more fun they have,’ underscores Thailand’s position as the preferred destination for Chinese travelers. The country offers a wide range of high-quality tourism products and services tailored to the preferences of various Chinese travel segments.
To promote the campaign, TAT has organized a Mega Fam Trip, featuring key opinion leaders (KOLs), from May 18 to 28, 2023. Sixty influential KOLs from China are participating in the trip, exploring meaningful travel experiences in key tourist destinations across Thailand. Additionally, the itinerary includes a ‘Shopping Challenge’ at ICONSIAM, showcasing diverse Thai tourism products and services that embrace experiential tourism and leverage the country’s 5F soft-power elements: Food, Film, Festival, Fight, and Fashion.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about tourist safety measures and highlight the enriching travel experiences available in Thailand. Content generated by the participating KOLs will be shared with their followers on popular online platforms such as Weibo, WeChat, Little Red Book, and Bilibili, ensuring a broad reach among the Chinese audience.
In order to underscore the campaign’s core message, TAT and the Royal Thai Police have implemented stringent measures to ensure the safety and security of all tourists during their travel experiences in Thailand. These measures apply to the 60 KOLs participating in the Mega Fam Trip, as well as Thai and Chinese media representatives, airline representatives, and campaign partners.
The ‘Trusted Thailand’ campaign serves as a crucial step in revitalizing the tourism industry and rebuilding Chinese tourist confidence, ultimately fostering a renewed interest in exploring the wonders of Thailand while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all visitors.
