The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) remains committed to promoting Thailand’s rich culinary heritage, launching the exciting “Amazing Thailand Culinary City” program to bolster gastronomy tourism. Underpinned by the Bio-Circular-Green Economy concept, this initiative encourages restaurants to adopt waste management systems and embrace a “zero food waste” policy, fostering environmentally and socially responsible tourism that benefits local communities.
Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, the Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications at TAT, explained that the program encompasses two key activities. The first is a business matching event tailored for food tourism businesses. Scheduled to take place from May 31 to June 2 at the prestigious Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, the event will feature 36 culinary tourism businesses. This platform aims to foster connections and collaborations, opening doors to new opportunities within the industry.
The second activity caters directly to food-loving tourists seeking gastronomic experiences. Spread across four provinces—Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Phuket, and Chanthaburi—the program will bring an array of enticing culinary offerings to delight the taste buds of visitors. The itinerary includes captivating events in each province, with the activity in Chiang Mai scheduled from May 19 to 21, Khon Kaen from June 9 to 11, Phuket from June 16 to 18, and Chanthaburi from June 23 to 25.
The Amazing Thailand Culinary City program promises an enticing array of food options from diverse businesses, accompanied by immersive culinary tours, farm-to-table experiences, and captivating showcases by Thai cooking schools.
