The Ban Krut Songkran Festival took place from April 13-17, 2023, and was a lively event filled with music, food, and fun for everyone. The festival was held at Ban Krut Beach, a popular tourist attraction located in Bang Saphan District.
At a press conference held on Thursday, April 13, Mr. Issara Kanjanarat, Mayor of Ban Krut Subdistrict Municipality, announced the details of the festival. The highlight of the festival was the “Songkran Festival Music Festival Ban Krut Feel Good 2023,” which took place on April 14 and 15 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight on both nights. The music festival featured performances from a variety of artists and was open to the public free of charge. In addition to the music, there were booths selling local food and seafood, giving visitors a chance to sample some of the delicious cuisine that Ban Krut had to offer.
Mr. Sarawut Limaroonrak, Governor of the Prachuap Provincial Administrative Organization, spoke at the press conference and emphasized the importance of the festival for the local community. He praised the efforts of the Ban Krut municipality in organizing the event and bringing together various businesses and organizations to support it. He also highlighted the potential economic benefits that the festival could bring, noting that at least 20,000 tourists had already visited Ban Krut beach in the two days leading up to the festival.
One of the unique features of the festival was the opening ceremony, where the chairman of the ceremony and other guests stirred a large pan of caramel to create Kalamae, a traditional dessert that is famous in the Krut village. This sweet and fragrant delicacy was then offered to the honored guests and over 200 tourists who were in attendance.
